Terror means 'Fear' and terrorism is another noun from of it. Terrorism are those who create terror in the hearts of others. They create terroristic activities. People get afraid of such fear provoking activities. These activities bombblasts, murder and blood-sheds, etc.

✓ A serious problem.

Terrorism  has become a very serious problem. It has become, now world-wide problem. Terrorists kidnap children, leaders, rich person. They murder many people by blasting at such a places where people gather as a crowd.

It happens sometime that they put entire area or village on fine. People do not feel safe in such old situations. They fear from going some where for their business or service purpose. Schools and colleges, temples and religious places are the targets of the terrorist.

✓ Causes of terrorism.

There are several causes of terrorism but the main cause of it is religious provocation. Terrorists consult the young boys and girls. They teach them that if they have faith in their religion and their diety, they must hate and kill the people of other religions.

If they do so, they will be loved most by God himself. If they die in doing so, they will get place in heaven by God's mercy. Young men become hypnotised and they start terroristic activities. Some countries are jealous of neighbouring countries.

They don't like to see other countries prosperous and developed. Consequently they instigate evil person to perform terroristic activities. For this, they give them financial help in crores. If they are killed or arrested, their family members would not suffer due to lack of money.

✓ Cross-border terrorism in India.

Pakistan is very much jealous of India. So, he is responsible for cross-border-terrorism in India. Pakistan hires the foreign terrorists and instigates them to create terroristic activities in Jammu and Kashmir always.

They enter India as disguised and create havoc in India. They attack Jammu and Kashmir assembly and then they try to attack Indian parliament. Between 1998 and 1999, Pakistan mercenaries had taken drass, Kargil and Battalik sector in their possession.

✓ World-wide spread of terrorism.

The whole is afraid of the terrorism. On September 11, 2001, a group of terrorists named 'Al-Quida' highjacked the planes of America and crashed them against the world trade centre and pantagon.

It caused a great loss to America. The leader of Al-Quida was a man named Ossama-Bin-Ladin. The centre of Al-Quida is Afghanistan. India has been facing continuous terrorist activities, in Assam, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland, and Andhra Pradesh. The result is that people are not feeling peaceful atmosphere there.

India's tryst with terrorism and violent extremism can be traced back partly to the religion based partition in 1947, which ripped the sub-continent into two nation, India and Pakistan. The sub-continent remained witness to the most horrifying ethnic riots.

In modern history, which were marked by extreme violence and acts of terrorism. Following the partition after a brief period of naturally, this territorial dispute lies at the core of the long standing conflict between the two nations with both nations each vehemently rejecting the other's claims.

Further, India views Pakistan as perpatuating the on-going cross border conflict and for sponsoring militant activity in a bid to destabilise state of J & K and other parts of the country.
