👉 Question (1) Why did Prince Siddhartha leave the palace and became a beggar ?

राजकुमार सिद्धार्थ ने अपना महल क्यों छोड़ा और भिक्षुक बन गये ? 

✍️ Answer. Once prince Siddhartha, while hunting saw a sick man, then an aged man, then a funeral procession and finally a monk begging for alms. Looking at this, he left the palace and became a beggar to search for enlightenment.

बुद्ध के प्रारंभिक जीवन के विषय में आप क्या जानते हो ?

✍️ Answer. Gautam Buddha was born in a royal family and his childhood name was Siddhartha. At the age of 12 he was sent away for schooling in Hindu sacred scriptures and four years later he got married to a princes.

👉 Question (3) Where did Buddha preach his first sermon ?

बुद्ध ने अपना पहला प्रवचन कहाँ दिया ?

✍️ Answer. Gautam Buddha preached his first sermon at the city of Benares, which is regarded as the holiest of the bathing places on the river Ganga.

👉 Question (4) What was the effect of the sufferings of the world on Buddha ? 

बुद्ध के ऊपर विश्व के दुखों का क्या असर हुआ ? 

✍️ Answer. At the age of 25 while hunting, one day Buddha saw a sick man, then an aged man, then a funeral procession and finally a monk begging for alms. These moved him so much that he went out into the world to seek enlightenment.

👉 Question (5) Why was Kisa Gotami sad ? What did she do in her hour of grief ? 

किसा गौतमी दुःखी क्यों थी ? अपने दुःख में उसने क्या किया ?

✍️ Answer. Kisa Gotami was sad due to the death of her only son. In the hour of grief, she went door to door in order to find medicine for her son that could bring him to life.

✍️ Answer. When he attained enlightenment, he started preaching and telling people about life and its meaning. He spread his preachings far and wide to the people.

👉 Question (7) Where and when did Siddhartha become the Buddha ?

कब और कहाँ सिद्धार्थ बुद्ध बने ? 

✍️ Answer. One day, seated beneath the Bodhi tree ( Tree of awakening ) Siddhartha became deeply absorbed in meditation, and reflected on his experience of life determined to penetrate its truth. He finally achieved enlightenment and became the Buddha.

👉 Question (8) Which people are referred to as 'wise' by the Buddha in his sermons ? 

अपने प्रवचनों में बुद्ध ने किन लोगों को 'बुद्धिमान' कहा है ? 

✍️ Answer. Buddha preached in his sermons that everything that is born will come to its end. Death is inevitable, both young and adult or fools and wise are subject to death. But the people who do not grieve knowing the terms of the world are called wise people.

👉 Question (9) How did the Buddha teach Kisa Gotami the truth of life ? 

बुद्ध ने किसा गौतमी को जीवन का सत्य कैसे पढ़ाया ? 

✍️ Answer. Buddha changed her thinking with the help of a simple act-asking her to procure a handful of mustard seeds from that house where none had died. She could not understand it. But gradually she understood that death is inevitable.

👉 Question (10) What sights moved Siddhartha to seek the path of enlightenment ? 

किन दृश्यों ने सिद्धार्थ को ज्ञान का मार्ग ढूंढने के लिए प्रेरित किया ? 

✍️ Answer. While going for hunting Gautam saw a sick man, an old man, a funeral procession and a monk begging and this encounter with the suffering and grief moved him and he left to seek the path of enlightenment.

👉 Question (1) Why did Kisa Gotami say " How selfish am I in my grief " ! What did she realise about the fate of mankind ? 

किसा गोतमी ने क्यों कहा, मैं अपने दुःख में कितनी स्वार्थी हूँ ! मानव के भाग्य के विषय में उसने क्या महसूस किया ? 

✍️ Answer. Kisa Gotami lost her only son and in her grief, she carried her dead child everywhere and asked people to cure him. In her grief, she forgot that everyone had to suffer such type of loss in his or her family. Death is inevitable. But in her grief, she became selfish and tried to fulfill the condition that was impossible. 

👉 Question (2) What did Buddha say about the mortals of the world ?

बुद्ध ने संसार के नश्वर प्राणियों के विषय में क्या कहा ?

✍️ Answer. Buddha said that death is inevitable. The life of mortals in this world is trouble and grief and combined with pain. For there is not any means by which those who have been born can avoid dying, after reaching old age, there is death, of such nature are living beings. It is useless to worry about death.

He further taught that if humans have to overcome death. It is possible by drawing out the arrow of lamentation and complaint and grief. Man must overcome sorrow to be at peace. 

👉 Question (3) How did Siddhartha Gautam get enlightenment ? Why did he name the big tree as the Bodhi tree ? 

सिद्धार्थ को ज्ञान कैसे प्राप्त हुआ ? उसने उस बड़े वृक्ष का नाम 'बोधि वृक्ष' क्यों रखा ?

✍️ Answer. Gautam wanted a final solution for the sufferings and pains that afflicted people of the world. He wandered for seven years for seeking enlightenment. Finally, he sat down under a big tree. He vowed to stay there until enlightenment came. 

Enlightened after seven days he renamed the big tree. It was named Bodhi tree. He gave his first sermon at the city of Benares on the river Ganga.

👉 Question (4) Why did Kisa Gotami understand the message given by the Buddha only the second time ? In what way did the Buddha change her understanding ? 

किसा गोतमी को केवल दूसरी बार में ही बुद्ध का संदेश समझ आया ? किस प्रकार बुद्ध ने उसकी समझ को परिवर्तित किया ? 

✍️ Amswer. At the command of Buddha, she goes from house to house in search of handful mustard seeds from any house where nobody has everdied. But it is impossible to find such a house. The poor woman returns epmty handed. 

Buddha said human's life is full of trials and suffering and each person must overcome them. Real wisdom is to accept the inevitability of death and continue tne journey of life.

👉 Question (5) Why does Kisa feel disappointment after going from door to door ? 

किसा हर घर के दरवाजों पर जाकर निराशा क्यों महसूस करती है ? 

✍️ Answer. Kisa Gotami had only one son who had died. In her desire to make her son alive, she visited all her neighbours asking them for medicine. And then a man suggested her to go to the Buddha. Kisa Gotami went to the Buddha and prayed him to revive her son. 

But when asked there if anyone had died in the family they could only answer that they had lost many of their loved ones. Kisa Gotami became hopeless and realised that death is common to all.
