,👉 Definition. (परिभाषा)

That work started in past and finished in past after moving a long time or short time with timely is called past perfect continuous tense.

वह कार्य जो Past (भूत) में शुरु हुआ और Past में ही कुछ लम्बे समय या कुछ कम समय चलने के पश्चात समय के साथ समाप्त हो गया Pat perfect continuous tense कहलाता है |

👉 Recognize of tense (काल की पहचान)

इस Tense के वाक्यों के अंत में मुख्य क्रिया (Main verb) के साथ रहा था, रहे थे, रही थी, ता रहा था, ते रहे थे, ती रही थी etc. शब्द आते हैं तथा साथ में समय भी दिया रहता है |

(a) Rohit had been playing since morning.

              रोहित सुबह से खेल रहा था |

(b) I had been running for two hours.

             मैं दो घण्टों से दौड़ रहा था |

👉All rules step by step with suitable examples.

(1) Affirmative sentences. (सकारात्मक वाक्य)

* (Rule) Sub. + had been + V-4 + Obj. + Since / For + time.

✓ Example.

(a) Sachin Tendulkar had been playing cricket since 1989.

सचिन तेंदुलकर सन् 1989 से क्रिकेट खेल रहे थे |

(b) Katrina had been sleeping continuously for three hours.

कैटरीना तीन घण्टों से लगातार सो रही थी |

(2) Negative sentences. (नकारात्मक वाक्य)

* (Rule) Sub. + had not been + V-4 + Obj. + Since / For + time.

(a) You had not been reading the Ramayan since early morning.

 तुम प्रातः काल से रामायण नहीं पढ़ रहे थे |

(b) Virender Sehwag had not been playing cricket match for one hours.

वीरेन्द्र सहवाग  एक घण्टे से क्रिकेट मैच नहीं खेल रहे थे |

(3) Interrogative sentences. (प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य)

* (Rule) Had + Sub. + been + V-4 + Obj. + Since / For + time + ?

(a) Had it been raining continuously since noon ?

    क्या वर्षा दोपहर से लगातार हो रही थी ?

(b) Had Chanchal sir been teaching for four hours ?

 क्या चंचल सर चार घण्टे से पढ़ा रहे थे ?

(4) Interrogative + Negative sentences. (प्रश्नवाचक + नकारात्मक वाक्य)

* (Rule) Had + Sub. + Not + been + V-4 + Obj. + Since / For + time + ?

(a) Had Lata not been playing Harmonium for two hours ?

 क्या लता दो घण्टों से हारमोनियम नहीं बजा रही थी ?

(b) Had you not been playing football for six hours ?

 क्या तुम छः घण्टे से फुटबॉल नहीं खेल रहे थे ?

 Note :

जो वाक्य Interrogative यानी प्रश्नवाचक होता है वो हमेशा 'क्या' से शुरू होता है और जो वाक्य 'क्या' से शुरू होता है उसमें 'क्या' की अंग्रेजी (What) नहीं लिखी जाती है बल्कि सबसे पहले H.V. यानी Helping verb का प्रयोग होता है | 

👉 Use of W.H. Family in past perfect continuous tense.

What is the W.H. Family ? (W. H. Family क्या होता है ? )

The word in a sentence which raises question in the mind when read is called W.H. family.

जिस वाक्य में जिस शब्द को पढ़ने से मन में प्रश्न का भाव उठे उसे W. H. Family कहते हैं |

W.H. Family न वाक्य के पहले आता है और न वाक्य के अंत में जब भी आता है तो वाक्य के बीच में जैसे - क्या, कब, क्यों, कैसे, कहाँ, क्या-क्या, किस समय, कितना, कहाँ से इत्यादि.... इसे दूसरे शब्दों में प्रश्नसूचक शब्द भी कहा जाता है |

* (Rule - 1) W.H.F. + had + Sub. + been + V-4 + Obj. + Since / For + time + ?

✓ Example.

(a) Which book had you been reading since 4, O' clock ? 

 चार बजे से तुम कौन सी पुस्तक पढ़ रहे थे ?

(b) Why had you been calling him since midnight ?

 तुम उसे आधी रात से क्यों बुला रहे थे ?

* (Rule - 2) W.H.F. + had + Sub. + Not + been + V-4 + Obj. + Since / For + time + ?

(a) How had I not been reading in "Alex coaching centre" since 2020 ?

 मैं "Alex कोचिंग सेंटर" में सन् 2020 से कैसे नहीं पढ़ रहा था ?

(b) How had it not been heavy raining since midnight ?

मूसलाधार वर्षा आधी रात से कैसे नहीं हो रही थी ?

👉 Six condition of the rules.

Sub. + had been + V-4 + Obj. + Since / For + time.

Sub. + had not been + V-4 + Obj. + Since / For + time.

Had + Sub. + been + V-4 + Obj. + Since / For + time + ?

Had + Sub. + Not + been + V-4 + Obj. + Since / For + time + ?

W.H.F. + had + Sub. + been + V-4 + Obj. + Since / For + time ?

W.H.F. + had + Sub. + Not + been + V-4 + Obj. + Since / For + time + ?

Kangana had been dancing for two hours.

      कंगना दो घण्टों से नाच रही थी |

Kangana  had not been dancing for two hours.

     कंगना दो घण्टों से नहीं नाच रहीं थी |

Had Kangana been dancing for two hours ?

    क्या कंगना दो घण्टों से नाच रही थी ?

Had Kangana not been dancing for two hours ?

   क्या कंगना दो घण्टों से नहीं नाच रही थी ?

How had Kangana been dancing for two hours ?

   कंगना दो घण्टों से कैसे नाच रही थी ?

How had Kangana not been dancing for two hours ?

   कंगना दो घण्टों से कैसे नहीं नाच रही थी ? 

         

👉 Use of Since and For in this tense.

      (इस Tense में Since और For का प्रयोग)

1. निश्चित समय (Point of time) के पहले Since का प्रयोग होता है तथा अनिश्चित समय (Period of time) के पहले For का प्रयोग होता है |

2. दिन में प्रहर दिये गये हों जैसे - सुबह से, शाम से Since morning, Since evening etc.

3. दिन का नाम दिया हो जैसे - मंगलवार से, सोमवार से Sonce Tuesday, Since Monday etc.

4. महीनों का नाम दिया हो जैसे - जनवरी से, फरवरी से Since January, Since February etc.

5. वर्षों का नाम अर्थात सन् लिखा हो जैसे - 2001, 2003, 2003, Since 2001, Since 2003, Since 2004 etc.

6. वह तारीख जिस दिन कोई पैदा हुआ हो जैसे - जन्म से Since birth etc.

7. यदि वाक्य में Yesterday, Last day, Last night, या Last month लिखा हो तो Since ही लगेगा क्योंकि ये Point of time (निश्चित समय) माने जाते हैं |

8. उपर्युक्त के अलावा शेष सभी के साथ For का प्रयोग होता है जैसे - For two hours, For three days, For six months, For many years, For a long time, For weeks etc.
