👉 Question (1) How did Kenneth find the bear cub ?

✍️ Answer. Once, with his companions, Kenneth was passing through the sugarcane fields near Mysore. Some people were driving away pigs by shooting at them. Just then a sloth bear came out panting in the hot sun. One of his companions shot it dead.
It was a mother bear. Her cub was riding on her back. As the mother fell down, the bear cub left it and began to run around the dead bear's body making a pitiful noise. The author ran after the cub and grabbed it.

✍️ Answer. She lovingly christened him Bruno, though later on she changed it to Baba. In the beginning she fed it from a bottle but very soon, the bear started eating and drinking everything else. He ate porridge, vegetables, fruit, nuts, meat curry and rice, bread, eggs, chocolates, sweets, pudding etc.
He drank milk, tea, coffee, lime-juice etc. In short, Kenneth's wife reared the cub with great care and affection like her son.

✍️ Answer. Finding himself released on the island, Baba was delighted. There he stood on his hindlegs. He held the stick and pointed it as his 'gun', and he craddled his 'baby'.
He, in fact, took a stupm of wood as his baby. The author's wife would come to the island with the help of a rope. She spent a lot of time sitting on a chair, the bear sat on her lap. Baba's life on the island was, thus, very delightful.
