👉  Question (1) What is the name of the protagonist of the story ? What unique achievement did she make ? 

कहानी की नायिका का नाम क्या है ? कौन-सी अद्वितीय उपलब्धि उसने पाई ? 

✍️ Answer. Santosh is the name of the protagonist of the story. The unique achievement that she make is that she is the only woman in the world to scale Mt. Everest twice.

संतोष किस प्रकार के वस्त्र पहनना अधिक पसंद करती थी ? 

✍️ Answer. Santosh prefers to wear modern dresses like shorts.

👉 Question (3) How many siblings did Santosh have ? How many brothers and how many sisters, in all, were they ?

संतोष के कितने भाई बहन थे ? कुल मिलाकर वे कितने भाई और कितनी बहनें थीं ?

✍️ Answer. Santosh had five siblings. They were five brothers and one sister.

✍️ Answer. When Santosh politely informed her parents that she would herself earn money by working part time if they refused to pay her school fees, her parents agreed to pay.

✍️ Answer. She asked the mountaineers if she could join them. It was a pleasant surprised to her that they not only answered in the affirmative but also motivated her to take to climbing.

✍️ Answer. She enrolled in a course in Uttarkashi and reached there just after her semester in Jaipur had ended. The name of institute was Nehru institute of mountaineering.

✍️ Answer. After joining the Uttarkashi institute Santosh went on expedition every year.

✍️ Answer. She scaled Mt. Everest at the age of just twenty. This event was remarkable in the sense that she became the youngest woman in the world to achieve the feat.

1992 में उसके दो सह-पर्वतारोहियों को क्या हुआ ?

✍️ Answer. In 1992, one of her fellow climbers lay dying at the South col. She provided him special care but in vain. To the other she saved by sharing her oxygen with him.

✍️ Answer. Santosh scaled Mt. Everest a second time. Thus, she set a record as the only woman to have scaled Everest twice.

✍️ Answer. One of the nation's top honours the ' Padam shri' was bestowed upon her.

✍️ Answer. When she was literally ' on top of the world', for some time she could not believe it. Then she unfurled the Indian tricolour and held it aloft on the roof of the world. She felt proud as an Indian.

✍️ Answer. She was really a fervent environmentalist. When she came down with her she brought down 500 kilograms of garbage from the Himalayas.

👉 Question (1) Describe Santosh's life in her village, and her problems as well. How did she overcome them ?

गाँव में संतोष के जीवन का और साथ ही उसकी समस्याओं का वर्णन कीजिए | उसने उन पर कैसे विजय पाई ? 

✍️ Answer. Santosh yadav was born in the small village of Joniyawas of Rewari district in Haryana. People there lived a traditional life which Santosh did not like to live. In place of traditional dresses, she preferred shorts. She wanted to lead her own correct and rational path.

In her village, girls were married at sixteen. She opposed the custom and declared that she would get married only after getting proper education. She even made it clear to her parents that if they did not pay for her education, she herself would earn money.

👉 Question (2) How did she get interested in mountaineering ? 

उसकी रुचि पर्वतारोहण में कैसे जगी ?

✍️ Answer. While in Jaipur's maharani college, from her room at Kasturba hostel, she used to wath villagers getting up the hill and disappearing. One day, to check it out herself, she came out and saw some mountaineers.

She asked them if she could join them. Their answer was not only 'yes' but they motivated her too. Thus she got interested in mountaineering.

✍️ Answer. After getting herself enrolled at Uttarkashi, Santosh went on an expedition every year. In 1992 when she was just so, she scaled Mt. Everest, and became the youngest woman in the world to achieve the fat.

She became the first woman in the world to have scaled Mt.Everest twice. Santosh was awarded with the ' Padam shri' for her achievements. 

👉 Question (4) What incident took place during the 1992 Everest mission ? What quality of Santosh's character can be seen here ? 

1992 के एवरेस्ट अभियान के दौरान कौन-सी घटना घटित हुई ? यहाँ संतोष के चरित्र के कौन-से गुण देखे जा सकते है ? 

✍️ Answer. During the 1992 Everest mission, Santosh yadav provided special care to a climber who lay dying at the South Col. But in spite of doing her best, she could not save the mountaineer. However, she managed to save another climber whose name was Mohan Singh who saved she.

Mohan singh would surely have died, had she not shared her oxygen with him. These two incidents show how caring Santosh was and that she believed in just selfless service.

संक्षेप में संतोष का चरित्र-चित्रण कीजिए |

✍️ Answer. Santosh yadav is born in a traditional village of Haryana. But she is not an ordinary girl. She does not wear traditional dresses. She opposes her marriage at an early age.

She insists her parents to send her out for education. She makes climbing her ambition and overcoming all difficulties, she scales Everest twice and becomes the only woman to do the miracle twice.
